TO SELECT AND ADJUST THE HANDLES
With hook handles, it is difficult to have a good hold of the lines and therefore to fly effectively. Moreover, it is difficult to fly with equal lines, even more so if not all the string is unwound. This is why the straps will be more accurate than the hook handles.
Generally, rope strap endcaps are more accurate than hook endcaps.
TO MAKE ADJUSTABLE HANDLES

The lines can slacken inequally as they are being used.

Accordingly, do not tie the lines directly on to the handles : rather put a linking rope with knots (every centimeter) between the lines and the handles. This will enable you to make the lines equal without having to cut them or to make a knot on the lines in case of breaking. It will just be a case of tying the lines to the appropriate knot.

TO LINK THE LINES TO THE HANDLES
The lines are tied to the handles using a lark's head knot.
TO MAKE HANDLES
You can also make your own handles using strapping and rope, as shown opposite.
